Things You See While Boating

Most of us have hobbies that we do for fun, from fishing and bowling to golfing, playing basketball, and riding horses. Sometimes part of the reason we do these activities is for the things we’ll see. For example, while snow skiing, you’ll get to see the top of mountains and the mountain town below — a unique perspective that can feed your soul. While out boating, you’ll get to see some pretty unique features as well.

Lillipad Marine makes the best boat diving boards. Made to fit on your boat that is at least 18 foot long, our boat diving boards are easy to install, easy to store, and even easier to use — after all, all you have to do is jump! Below, we’ll go over some of the cool and neat things you can see while out boating, which may be reason enough to partake in the sport of recreational boating. Visit us online today to get started!

THINGS YOU SEE WHILE OUT BOATING

Sunset from the Water

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west everyday of every year. It happens with such frequency and regularity that many of us don’t stop to notice them, unless, perhaps, the colors are just outstanding.

When you are on the water, watching the sunset sink behind the horizon, which is just a body of water from your boat, is an amazing experience. First, you won’t be tempted by your phone to miss it. Second, the colors the sun creates on water are simply magnificent and not to be missed.

Many ancient cultures have stories (that we now call myths) about the sunrise and the sunset, such as the Romans and the Greeks. Many even worshipped the sun, such as the ancient Egyptians and the Maya. The sun is the giver of life, and it’s also a creator (along with the atmosphere and our eyes) of some of the most picturesque moments in our lives. Taking the time to watch a sunset from a boat is sure to inspire you and awe you.

Wildlife

Since you are in essence a part of nature, you’ll undoubtedly see wildlife while you are out boating. If you are boating on the ocean, you may see whales, dolphins, or even sharks. You could be near a coral reef and see all of the life a coral reef offers, from sea eels to clown fish. You’ll, of course, see seagulls and other birds of the ocean, such as pelicans. You may even see the elusive but beautiful puffin in the far north. Jelly fish swim near the ocean’s shores, and crabs can scurry along the beach. Seals could be lying by the shore, or even walrus in the far north.

If you are on a lake, you will probably see an assortment of ducks floating around, maybe even baby ducks if it’s spring. You could see some frogs along the shore line. Herons, especially blue herons, love to stand along the shore line, watching for their next meal. If you love insects, you can see butterflies and dragonflies (and don’t forget the bug spray to keep the unwanted bugs away, such as mosquitoes). If it’s early in the morning or late at night, you could see a deer getting a drink of water. You may even see a bald eagle who loves to eat fish. Other birds of prey frequent lakes as well, such as peregrine falcons and osprey.

These are just some of the animals you could spot while boating or using our boat diving boards. Keep your eyes peeled for more!

Rock Formations

While most of us don’t think much about the composition of the earth unless you are in a geology class, rocks are all around us, and frankly, we couldn’t live without them. They literally provide the foundation for us to walk upon.

That being said, bodies of water, especially lakes and rivers, are low-lying, tending to lie below rock formations. When you are on a boat, you have the opportunity to see these rock formations up close and personal. You can see the rock layers in sedimentary rock, and you may even see small ancient sea creatures, such as protozoa, in these rock layers that lived millions and billions of years ago. If you stepped back from the rock, you could see a conglomeration of color that would be beautiful in your eyes. You could even anchor your recreational boat by one and spend the day diving into the water on your boat diving board. This would be a wonderful backdrop for the day and for your memories.

Sand & Waves

Lillipad Marine, a maker of the best diving boards for boats, lumps these together. Despite the fact that recreational boating is growing, there are many people who don’t have the privilege of visiting a beach or an actual body of water. For those that do, one of the best things to see is the sand. Sand is made up of the tiny particles of broken up rock. Sand can be beautiful in its own right, if you actually examined it up close. Furthermore, many creatures make their home in the sand, and they leave behind goodies, such as seashells. If you have kids, walking along the beach and collecting shells will be a favorite thing to do and a favorite memory for the future.

There is such beauty in nature, perhaps none so amazing and beautiful as seashells, which are made by small sea creatures who leave them behind when they die. Of course, crabs, such as hermit crabs, then reuse them, which is the beauty of the cycle of nature. And then there’s the beauty you make, such as sand castles. Hours of fun can be had in the sand.

The frequency of waves is one of the most soothing sounds in the world, which is exhibited by the fact that many people fall asleep to the sound of waves lapping the shore. However, listening to a recording of waves is nothing compared to the sound of waves in real life. From big waves to tiny waves, just watching waves can put you in a trance. Knowing that the tides are caused by the moon is just one more reason to be awed by water that only moves because of the transmittal of energy, most frequently, wind.

Sitting in the waves and having them lap your toes is very soothing, Lillipad Marine notes. You can take a nap or just watch the waves go in and out. In today’s busy world, just sitting and observing nature can be all that is necessary to soothe your soul, as much as your brain.

HOW LILLIPAD MARINE HELPS INSPIRE YOU

Having fun is, well, fun. But that’s not all that this activity gives you. When you engage in activities that you enjoy doing, such as running, hiking, or biking, you relieve stress, clear your mind, and form ideas and plans for the present and the future. Some of the best inventions and ideas in this world came from moments of inspiration while having fun.

The mission of Lillipad Marine is to increase the amount of fun you have while boating. We do this through our amazing boat diving boards. Built to last a long time, our boat diving boards are made out of stainless steel components that resist corrosion and hold up to being jumped on repeatedly thousands of times. Our boat diving boards are made for the whole family to enjoy, allowing adults up to 250 pounds to use them safely. If your boat is longer than 18 feet, you can easily mount a Lillipad Diving Board on a flat surface. Our boat diving boards are made to counteract your jump, meaning you will hardly feel it while you are sitting on the boat and someone else is jumping. We offer an adjustable Stabilizer Rail for added help while jumping, as well as quick release pin on the boat diving board that will adjust the tension for you, which is helpful for heavier or lighter jumpers.

Lillipad Marine recommends that you protect your boat diving board with our cover while not in use. This will keep it from being scratched by trees and other objects while at dock or while in transport. This Lillipad Diving Board can be quickly folded up for when you are not using it and can also be left on while trailering your boat. With multiple colors, your boat diving board can be matched to your boat. We also offer two different mounting hardware kits so you can adjust this diving board for boats how you see fit on your boat.

REVO LADDER

Our newest offering is the REVO ladder. This boarding ladder also doubles as a dock ladder. With an incredible 48” in length, you can say goodbye to those incredibly cheap boat ladders most boats come with. Our boarding ladders can be mounted on the stern or the bow for optimal customization for your needs. When you are not using your boat ladder, our retracting strap allows you to pull up your ladder while standing on the deck or dock, which eliminates the need for stooping or getting down on your knees. This boat ladder also folds up easily for storage when not in use to 16”. Designed with a low profile, our REVO ladder is sure to keep you safe, with a slip-resistant surface and unrivaled comfort and style.

MARINE FUNNEL

A Marine Funnel by Lillipad Marine is one of those things you will ask yourself after you purchase it why you didn’t buy it sooner. The Marine Funnel was developed by boat enthusiasts to eliminate splashing with a screen on top of the canister. The hose will not freeze, which makes it perfect if you live in Michigan or Minnesota and face frigid winters. It also won’t kink, and being clean, you can see when it’s almost done transferring the fuel from its tank to your boat. The nozzle is aircraft grade, which makes it not drip. It contains a steel ball valve that allows you to adjust the flow of fuel to your boat. This also helps to prevent spills, which can leak into the water and be an environmental hazard.

Our Marine Funnels are designed for multi-purpose use, allowing you to mount them on your boat or dock and then mount another kit so you can move your funnel from one location to another. Use for all your toys, from motorcycles and ATVs to your golf cart and lawn mower, and install in your shed or your garage. Lillipad Marine Funnel makes a great gift for the boater in your family.
