Unless you are drinking a smoothie to replace a meal, you should be sticking to water, unsweetened tea and other beverages that don’t contain sugar.

You Should Be Exercising and Not Sitting

Regular exercise is vital for your health and weight control. Increasing the amount of time you exercise is a big step to losing weight. You should be doing at least one hour of moderate to intense activities each day.

Now, that is not to say that you must be taking your body to the limit in order to lose weight, that isn’t necessary. Simply walking a brisk rate of speed is enough to burn calories and lose weight over time.

Keep a Diary

Self-monitoring is critical when you want to lose weight. You can keep a paper diary or use an app to record your diet. You will look back and notice that over time, you got better and better at controlling what you ate.

Varied, Colorful and Nutritious

The foods you eat when you are trying to lose weight should be colorful and varied. You might love to eat apples, but you should mix in other fruits as well. When you think about fast food, none of it is really all that colorful. A burger and fried from a fast food joint isn’t colorful at all.

Fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, are all very bright and colorful. Your plate should be filled with these kinds of foods.
